The Society of Broadcast Engineers has honored multiCAM systems with the 2020 SBE Technology Award for the AIRBRIDGE remote guest manager.
SBE says this award recognizes an SBE individual or sustaining member who has provided the industry with the “best new or innovative technical item or idea to further the science of broadcast engineering and to assist the broadcast engineer.”
On the award decision, SBE President Wayne Pecena said: “multiCAM continues a long succession of technology innovators who have identified and fulfilled a technical need in broadcast or multimedia technology.”
UNIQUE FEATURES
multiCAM AIRBRIDGE is a video solution for including remote guests in shows or conferences. Up to four guests can be live at the same time. And up to 12 guests can be on the waiting list. Operators simply send a link to the guests. Once guests open the link they can connect to the show with the host’s permission.
The system is ideal for radio, small Web TV or podcast productions. AIRBRIDGE’s other features comprise video call-in management with queue and compatibility with A/V standards (AoIP I/Os, NDI/SDI Os). It’s the only professional video calling solution that lets users control remote guests’ video settings (scale, position, picture). The system also allows operators to manage participants’ mix-minus audio, adjust guests’ audio delay and send video program to guests.
Previous winners of the prestigious SBE Technology Award include Orban, Nautel, Ross Video, Dielectric, Thales Broadcast & Multimedia, Videotek and Harris.
